Any ideas on running class meetings with year ones?

Thanks Nicolla, I will have to have a look for the fundamental books. I have 23 treasures in my class too. I also have 2 beautiful boys with Down Syndrome!

Sam, the tumble books is $399 a year... am I looking in the right place?

Can highly recommend Tumble Books as a website for e-books. It costs to join unless you go in through a library website (like Lancaster Library or Napa). Have used it up to grade 3 and they love it.

Hi I've been a member for a few weeks and printed and laminated for a week solid. Love your discussions. I am teaching year one for the first time in years so I need some pointers.

Hi Nicola, thanks for the heads up about fundamentals. Has anyone tried the iMaths? Are the Daily Workout books for numeracy?

Hi everyone I teach a Year 1 class - 23 students - and like KC my reading levels range from Lvl 4 - Lvl 30+!! I love teaching this year level, they are so full of enthusiasm and energy. Kathryn, I also use the Daily Work-Out books and can recommend them too. Another maths resource which I couldn't live/teach without is the 'Fundamentals' series by Brian Tickle and others - these texts are full of fabulous games for teaching and reinforcing number concepts.

I have found a great resource to help plan mental computation in the classroom. I have also used this book for ideas when planning number fun sessions.

Hi Just joined the site and found this group. Wow!. I have a year one class and love it but find it is more like a K-2 class with the mixed abilities some reading at level 3 and others at level 20 - so varied. Look forward to chatting on here - kathie
